The rooms
A stay under the skies of Biarritz
Each of the hotel's 3 floors has a theme inspired by the works of Jules Verne and his Voyages Extraordinaires, whether maritime, geographic or simply unusual.
The 77 rooms of the establishment, are all dedicated to a particular work, a character, or a friend of the writer.
An original watercolour by Jean Aubertin revisits the chosen theme, and a text gives the guest who wants to know more a selection of facts, as well as quotes from the author.
A Jules Verne novel is placed on the night table to invite guests to dream and read.
The decor of the rooms - designed by Aleth Prime - evokes the Vernian universe. The headboards pay tribute to the lavishly illustrated Verne editions of the publisher Hetzel with the hydrogen balloon of Five Weeks in a Balloon alongside the Albatross of Robur the Conqueror and its multiple propellers hovering above a terrestrial globe.
The writer's signature is inscribed on the bed set and the bathroom window decoration depicts Robur's flying craft rising into the air.
The porthole-like bathroom mirror is a tip of the sailor’s cap to the Nautilus from Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
